Why have rhinoplasty with an ENT surgeon?
Op. Dr. Süleyman Kumbasar is an ear, nose and throat specialist with a practice in Bahçelievler, Istanbul, performing rhinoplasty, revision rhinoplasty and otoplasty. In every operation he assesses the internal structure of the nose (septum, turbinates and nasal valve): appearance and breathing are addressed in one plan.
The nose is a breathing organ.
A nose made smaller on the outside can become narrower on the inside. ENT training teaches how to reshape the nose without narrowing the airway; a deviated septum and enlarged turbinates are corrected in the same operation.
If a problem arises, the same doctor deals with it.
Blockage, sinus or sense-of-smell problems after surgery are not referred to another specialist: diagnosis and treatment take place at the same practice.
The plan is based on the examination.
At the first consultation the inside of the nose is examined with an endoscope, and the airway, cartilage structure and skin thickness are assessed. The surgical plan is set by the breathing goal as well as the aesthetic goal.
Areas of expertise
Rhinoplasty is his main area of work; ear, nose and throat conditions and paediatric ENT are treated at the same practice, by the same doctor.
