Who is Süleyman Kumbasar?
He was born in Istanbul in 1971 and finished secondary school at Pertevniyal High School. He graduated from Eskişehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Medicine in 1996. In 1998 he entered the Ear, Nose and Throat Department of Haseki Training and Research Hospital through the national specialty examination, and qualified as a specialist in 2002.
After his compulsory service in Ardahan, he worked for seventeen years at private hospitals on the European side of Istanbul. Since 2019 he has seen patients at his own practice in Bahçelievler. The hospitals and dates are listed in the timeline at the end of this page.
How does he plan rhinoplasty?
He approaches rhinoplasty as an ENT surgeon: he assesses the outward appearance of the nose together with its internal structure. If the examination finds something that makes breathing difficult, such as a deviated septum or enlarged turbinates, this is corrected in the same session as the cosmetic surgery.
Most of his operations are primary rhinoplasties, meaning first operations on people who have not had nose surgery before. The open or closed technique, the use of the piezo (ultrasonic) device and the length of the hospital stay are decided after the consultation, according to the structure of the nose. The same method is not applied to every patient.
What areas does he work in?
For the nose, he also performs revision rhinoplasty, ethnic rhinoplasty and tip rhinoplasty. Otoplasty (prominent ears), sinus conditions, snoring and sleep apnoea and, in children, adenoid and tonsil problems are also part of his work.

First your reason for coming and your expectations are listened to; then the inside and outside of the nose are examined. If surgery is needed, the same consultation covers how it will be done, the recovery process and the possible risks. The decision is made together with the patient, based on the examination findings.
